Elle nous d\u00e9montre que ce n\u2019est pas le stress qui est mauvais en soi, mais plut\u00f4t la croyance que le stress est associ\u00e9 \u00e0 un plus fort taux de morbidit\u00e9 (maladies) et mortalit\u00e9.&nbsp; Le danger ne vient donc pas du stress en lui m\u00eame, mais de la croyance sur les effets du stress. Pour Kelly McGonigal nous pouvons changer cette croyance fort limitante en changeant notre perception des signaux physiologiques du stress. Les m\u00eames manifestations du syst\u00e8me adr\u00e9nergique peuvent \u00eatre per\u00e7ues comme sources d\u2019anxi\u00e9t\u00e9&#8230; ou comme une pr\u00e9paration \u00e0 la r\u00e9alisation de quelque chose d&rsquo;inhabituel. Si la r\u00e9action adr\u00e9nergique de stress nous pr\u00e9pare \u00e0 l\u2019action, une autre hormone de stress, l\u2019ocytocine qui est s\u00e9cr\u00e9t\u00e9e en m\u00eame temps, nous pr\u00e9pare \u00e0 nous rapprocher des autres pour y trouver le confort r\u00e9parateur pour le c\u0153ur, de fa\u00e7on \u00e0 r\u00e9cup\u00e9rer plus rapidement de la r\u00e9action de stress.
