We are delighted to announce this special training with Stephen Gilligan, Ph.D., one of the world’s leading authorities and innovators in Ericksonian hypnosis. Participants will learn how to use Ericksonian Generative Trance work in both personal and professional contexts. Come prepared to enter a training community that is both safe and passionate. The training includes many demonstrations, training exercises, intense personal work, group trance work, and lecture/discussion. The interplay of cognitive and experiential learning is emphasized throughout.
Part 1: The development of generative trance: The shift to a higher state of consciousness.
In the first 4 days of the course, you will learn how to develop and work within deep trance states in many ways. Major topics include:
- what makes a generative trance, and how to develop it
- symptoms/problems as negative trances
- how to shift a negative trance to a generative trance
- steps in generative trance work
- utilizing whatever the client presents—positive or negative memories, resources, resistances, etc.—to create generative trance
- creating mindbody learning states for problem solving/creative living
- multiple induction techniques/methods
- deep trance for personal/professional change
This second segment will emphasize how to utilize generative trance for transforming identity, healing, and major creativity and problem-solving. These skills and practices allow the mastery of psychological realities, so that transformation, healing, and creative living are possible.
- how identity is created, maintained, and transformed
- trance as a model for higher consciousness and Generative Self
- trance phenomena as the submodalities of identity (e.g., time, space, memory, attention, somatic image)
- how to create deep trance and use trance phenonema to reorganize identity, achieve generative goals, and create transformation inside and all around you.
- personal healing, transforming traumas, and dissolving problems
- experiencing Deep Trance Identification, a hypnotic process that allows a connection to Self deeper than personality.
The final 4-day segment will focus on applying hypnotic skills and principles to the various parts of one’s life. You will learn how to:
- apply hypnotic skills to your specific personal and professional interests;
- identify and transform the “hypnotic curses” and “negative hypnosis” states that limit the growth and expression of Self;
- integrate the conscious and unconscious minds into a Generative Self;
- create generative trance with or without hypnotic techniques
- using generative trance to translate problems/conflicts into resources/connections
- heal lifelong wounds, improve competencies, develop deep intimacies, and generate transpersonal experiences.
This course will deeply ground you in the principles, practices, and methods of Ericksonian hypnosis and Generative Trance. Practical tools and applications will be emphasized throughout, with the material always being presented on multiple cognitive and experiential levels. There is really nobody better at Ericksonian hypnosis than Stephen Gilligan, so come learn from the master!!
